The Farce That Was: Task Force re Review of Agreements with Foreign Investors

Notwithstanding, Sir, there are a number of matters on which you, as former Prime Minister, remain accountable to we the people.  Among these are  the matter of the Report of the Task Force that was convened to review the controversial agreements with foreign direct investors.  Among the many issues associated with these controversial agreements are/were alienation of the people’s property, the sweeping tax concessions, the suspect environmental, social and economic sustainability of some of these proposed projects.

Part 4:  FDI, Poole Capital and Camper & Nicholson, Any Connection?

Was the eventual transfer of the people’s property to Camper and Nicholson a deliberate design which began in 2002 with the Port George Agreement? A photo in the Caribbean Compass yachting magazine, January 2008, No. 148, page 91 under the caption – “What goes around” shows the signing ceremony in 2002 with the Camper and Nicholson banner in the background. The caption noted that a marina agreement was signed with Camper and Nicholson.

Like the Blue Lagoon Project, the Poole Capital Port George project was also stillborn. It was an article by Mr. Lloyd Noel, writing in the Caribbean Net News of December 27th,2006 – There must be accountability and transparency2 which drew attention to most unusual transactions involving the people’s property, particularly a Deed of Release of 5th October, 2006 which is NOT recorded in the Deeds and Lands Registry of Grenada and which, according to Mr. Noel’s article, was prepared by solicitors in England and facilitated the transfer of the property to Peter De Savary’s Port Louis.

Island Global Yachting vs. Poole Capital S.A.

On or about March 14th, 2006, Island Global Yachting Ltd. commenced civil action against defendants, Poole Capital S.A., Andrew J. Baker, Peter Doran and Brian R.M. Pearce (whom we the people know as Bru Pearce) in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, Index No. 600881-2006.  Plaintiff, Island Global Yachting Ltd., took action against the defendants for fraud, breach of confidentiality agreement and breach of an exclusivity agreement.
